Every year in Australia, there’s a special day very close to my heart. It’s National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS), a day where hundreds of thousands of Australian children and adults share a specially chosen book. In 2013, it was The Wrong Book, by Nick Bland. I was invited to read, sing and play with children from a local primary school while they celebrated NSS. It was lots of fun, and I was so impressed to see the children’s enthusiasm as they joined in the special reading co-ordinated by their wonderful Teacher Librarian.
You can find out more about National Simultaneous Storytime at the Australian Library and Information Association website. If you’d like some activities to use in association with The Wrong Book, check out my post at the Book Chook, Learning Activities for The Wrong Book.
