I’m Susan Stephenson! I’m a little older than when the photo here was taken, but not much wiser.
My writing has been published online and in print. Here are my published writing credits, along with professional presentations I have made.
Quick facts about me: I love splashing in the surf, writing stories, strolling in the rainforest, building cubbies, forts and dams, reading great books, chooks, learning new things, and whatever makes me laugh. I hate waiting in queues, wasp stings, dentist drills, bullies, brussel sprouts, and anything that pressures kids to grow up too fast.
As a Primary School teacher, I loved encouraging students to create and enjoy learning. Through The Book Chook blog, I’ve continued that passion by sharing tips with my audience of parents, teachers and librarians. My main focus there is the three Ls: children’s literature, literacy and learning. I’m also fascinated with what technology offers us, but believe we need to maintain a balance in our kids’ lives.
Because I love to learn, and believe kids function best when they enjoy learning too, I hope to share more ideas that promote this via my Fun with Learning blog, here at www.susanstephenson.com.au . You’ll also find collections of categorized educational resources here at my website, like Websites that Help Make Reading Fun.
